Developing an original Pioneer research topic: A Scholar's Story

Amiel Dixon took her Pioneer experience to heart and used it to not only further her academic skills, but to give her the information she needed to become a stronger activist in the world. Her research topic was devoted to social justice and activism in African American communities. Amiel used her own deep rooted experiences in her culture and her neighborhood to fight back against the injustices in the world, and she will continue to do so at Stanford University in the fall.
