The Pioneer experience has enabled me to not only solidify my passion in neuroscience and public-health advocacy but also demonstrate it tangibly throughout my college application process. Being able to learn from trial-and-error that is mirrored at any level of research conducted has taught me the invaluable lesson of resilience in the face of unfavorable outcomes. Most importantly, as a first-generation Latinx student, Pioneer has shown me the importance of leveraging the resources available to me such as alumni panels, office hours, and mentor support on my path to achieving success.
