When I did Pioneer, I remember one of the first meetings I just kind of expressed my ideas that I thought plants are kind of boring… My professor told me to let myself be surprised and just be open to that. And that’s what I did… I realized how super complex life is. There’s so much that’s so complex that it almost seems like there’s never enough for me to learn in a single day — and that kind of drives me to want to learn every day.
