Microneedle Transdermal Drug Delivery for Traditional Chinese Medicated Plasters

About the Scholar: Pioneer Scholar Chendan is from Wuhan, China, where she attended WHBC of Wuhan Foreign Languages School

The Research:

Chendan’s research seeks to combine traditional Chinese plasters with an advanced technology in transdermal drug delivery called microneedling. Although traditional Chinese plasters – bandages that contain medicines for pain and swelling relief – have been shown to be effective, their absorption rate is low and drug delivery can sometimes be inaccurate. Chendan shows that microneedling, a painless transdermal drug delivery method, can be applied to the plasters to improve permeability, self-application, and life-expectancy. This exciting new research can be used by doctors and by practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine to more efficiently administer medicines through the surface of the skin.

Project Title

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
