Synopsis: South Korea drastically reduced its COVID-19 infection rate to one-tenth of the peak in only three months. It is one of the leading countries to take control of the coronavirus pandemic. They took a strategic and comprehensive approach, by implementing preventive measures such as contact tracing apps, accessible testing centers, negative pressure rooms, and a four-step triage system. Despite their swift responses, citizens’ mental health was greatly affected by economic stressors and changes in daily life. However, progress in vaccine development and treatments have helped in keeping prospects for a better future alive.
